Hey, well this might turn out to be a fairly long post so bear with me. lol

I recently have having trouble with my 90 9kt. The problem seems to be with the hoses being old, and also my car not cooling itself.

The problem begins when I had a coolant hose spring some leaks, spraying coolant all over my engine bay. (the hose went to my throttle body) So, I replaced it, and then replaced the coolant. I have no clue about coolant and such, so i looked around here on the BB's to see what i could find. I found a thread saying that Dex-cool is what's needed. (I don't quite have the money to just take my car to a shop, so i've been forced to D.I.Y.) So when I bought the replacement hose, i bought some orange dex-cool. After looking in my res. tank, it looked like there was an orange tint, almost deposit-y looking. I figured the orange would be fine. (coolant was also a premixed formula)

So i replaced the hose and the coolant. I then decided to take it for a little test drive around a couple blocks to see how things were going. I was stopped at a stop sign when i heard a "pop" noise and then saw a lot of white smoke/steam while all my coolant was draining onto the road and yet again all over my engine bay. My engine bay is tinted green now :-/ I do think there is a possiblity that the previous owner had put green antifreeze in there. i'm not sure, but that's how it would seem.

I take it home very carefully (due to the temp needle being higher than everest) and find that I have another hose that's popped. This time is was my lower radiator hose.

Now we've caught up to today. I got a replacement radiator hose and have since swapped it with the old one. I put in more coolant and let the motor run for a little. At idle things seemed to be fine. I then took it around the block again only to have it come to the verge of overheating. I popped the hood and went to turn the Res. Cap and found that there was a lot of built up pressure. Also my fan never came on in any of the instances.

I'm wondering what the cause of the problem is and what the solution could be...

I'm thinking that maybe it could be
1. mix of anti-freeze creating a problem.
2. bad t-stat that's not working.
3. my fan isn't working anymore.
4. my radiator is screwed or something isn't making it turn on
5. my Res. Cap is broken and thus, not releasing pressure

Help!!! I've tried looking around the BB's to maybe find someone with a similar problem, but didn't have too much luck with that.

Thank you for your time, and thanks for sticking with me through this long long post. I could really really use your help
