And did you install them correctly? IIRC, they are kind of a pain to get in correctly, and they are a dealer part.

Check to see if the EDU is working and not lighting up by looking at it closely with a flashlight or in the sun to see if it's on. If it's a blank screen, then there must be a connection issue. If the unit is acutally functioning, then something is up with the bulbs.

As for the shift light, I have no idea, but you could always disconnect that bulb.

I know it's a PITA, but I'd go back in and check all the connections, especially the EDU connector which is kind of awkward to connect correctly. Then go from there...
