When a permanent code 68390 is set the car is placed in "Limp Home" mode. The malfunction indicated is a ECU fault:the electronic throttle control went faulty. Most likely a vacume leak in the safety valve system.A cracked vacume line or faulty vacume one way control valve is most likely the cause.Could be a dirty stepper motor in the throttle housing.Need to check the stepper commutator/brushes for resistance readings while the throttle butterfly is opened slowly(pins #1+7 on the housing).
A intermittent code 783B0 the malfunction indicated is ECU faulty throttle control. The ECU drive circuit to throttle-actuator motor is faulty, resulting in a oscillating movement of the throttle butterfly.Again a dirty commutator or worn brushes in the throttle housing a likely problem.
If i had the car to repair,i would remove and open up the throttle housing and check it out for the problems.A quick check would be to try a known good throttle housing after a calibration proceedure.
