I assume you have maintenance records of the car up to now. Or at least I hope so.
The best thing you can do for the tranny is to change the fluid and filter. The best is to flush the tranny. One way to do this is to drain the fluid, measuring how much comes out - it's about 1/3 the capacity. Refill, drive the car for a few hours, and repeat. On the third time, replace the filter.
Other than the tranny, unless you know the last time it was done:
Oil change - every 5K miles max. I don't care if it's the world's best synthetic. And the filter.
Coolant flush - every 2-3 years.
Replace thermostat - when coolant is flushed.
Brake fluid flush - every 2-3 years.
Fuel filter - every 30K miles; replace now if you don't know when it was last replaced.
Serpentine belt - I like to replace it every 30K miles; replace idler and tensioner pulley every 60K.
Spark plugs - inspect; replace if they are the wrong kind (use the proper NGKs) or if they look worn.
