the 6.5s will need a custom mount. I've looked for a lot of places to mount 6.5s in a 9000, and there aren't many. Two that I have seen that I like (soory, I don't have pictures) are 1) custom make a mount that fits into the front door pockets 2) custom mount them in the carpet at on the center console at the side of the footwells. You will probablyu also want to replace the stock front speakers.
I agree that JL and MB Quart (all made by the same company, I believe) are awesome speakers, and it is very much a matter of personal preference. I like the Kappas, and they offer good bang for the buck, and are easy to install, as they come in virtually any size you could wish for.
I also have a pair of JL components which I need to make up a custom box for and add them to my car. I had them in the back for a while and the bass was incredible, I just wanted to stick the stock 6x9 in the stock location, and figure out a place to put the 6.5" JLs. Like I said, there are not a ton of options! LOL
