You can pop the ACC unit out very easily. Unplug the big connector at the back and it''l be free of the dash. Once out there are 4 or 6 phillips head screws to remove and the faceplate will be in your hands. Do be careful of the ribbon wire that connects the faceplate to the circuit board inside.
I haven't gone past replacing the bulbs on either of my 9Ks so I'm not sure whether you can easily open the face plate to get at the switches. There are probably some tabs you'll have to pry apart. Do this indoors so the plastic is all at room temp, work carefully, don't break anything, and Let us know how you do. Good luck.
