I just posted about a similar detail recently and was told
that the OD is 62mm, which puts it squarely between 1 1/4
and 1 1/2".
Other thoughts:
I have had my flex pipe break before, and the best repair
that was affordable was to replace it with an aftermarket
universal 2 1/4" flex pipe from a regular parts store.
Since it wasn't flanged I had to do some cutting and just
used heavy duty clamps everywhere - it was very affordable
and I highly recommend this solution rather than OEM if
you live in a very rusty area like I do.
As an extension of this job - you could easily bypass
whatever you need to with just plain pipe - and the key to
that is if you have a place nearby that loans tools like
Autozone does - for a small deposit you can get a pipe
expander and make your own pieces.
Between one of those, an air chisel and grinder there is
very little exhaust that can't be safely, legally and
inexpensively re-rigged.
Best Wishes,
