The radio saga:

Went home over Christmas, battery died somehow (have since replaced failing battery). Naturally radio wanted sec. code, but I left it at my place, 5 hrs away.

Tried a few codes, gave up. Radio display reverts to " ---- ". Driving home with another guy, bored out of my mind, started with 1111 and got through 2222. (That's a lot of codes.)

Finally got back and found the code, along with instructions "enter 4 digit radio code. If incorrect code is entered, press and hold 'band' for five seconds until CODE IN appears on display" Try that, no dice, screen just goes back to " ---- ". Read some more instructions: "radio must be on with key in 'on' position for one hour after entering three incorrect codes." Try leaving car on for one hour, driving around, then attempt to enter my code again. Still nothing. Try driving around for one hour with "CODE IN" on screen - still nothing after putting in code.

I AM SURE THIS IS THE CORRECT CODE, I USED IT ONE TIME BEFORE WHEN THE BATTERY DIED AND I HAD THE CODE HANDY.

I've left the radio out of the car for weeks, and I'm stumped.

Radio is a Harmon-Kardon model, with the detachable faceplate (the pre-set numbers and the band button come off, the rest of the face stays attached).

I don't have the money to get a new radio right now, clutch and rear shocks and interm. flex pipe to fix first.

Can anyone please help, this is my first saab I've owned independent of my parents and the lack of tunes just getting old.
