I've a 91 9k w/194k. There is a little bit of engine noise. Part of that noise sounds like the chain hitting the top of the head cover. I put 30+k mi on my last 9k w/that sound, from 165-198. Part of it, I can't tell. The oil light is NOT on. I've never heard "piston slap," but the sound strikes me as what that might sound like. I had a 92 Ford Ranger in which the pick up screen did clog up, and the motor actually sounded sort of like a diesel. Am I worrying too much for a motor w/ this many miles? Thanks.
