Diagnostics was just a thought that I had, my main motivation is entertainment and navigation. It seems like there is a way, but i'm sure some ridiculous programming would be in order. Unless, of course, i forgo OBD and use a setup that some rice-racer has already developed. Also i live in portland, and our local gov't is working on getting free city wide WIFI. NAV won't really be that hard, i can hook up the Garmin that I already have to microsoft streets software. It even talks, but i'm not sure if it sounds anything like KIT, lol. I could opt for HAL, a la, "i'm sorry dave, i'm afraid you can do 120mph in a school zone." As far as sound, i don't think that will be too much of a problem. I can get a card for the laptop with pre-outs. Load it up with MP3's and DVD's, and I should be good to go. With a healthy time investment, i should be able to do it for under 400 bucks, as long as i use my current lappy. I found a lilliput touchscreen for 250...The hardest part is going to be working out how to get it into the dash cleanly. check out mp3car.com if ur interested. Definite brainteaser. I have faith though: the 9k can not only be more stylish, faster, more economical, and safe, but it can have the $3000 nav option for the price of a cheap set of tires.
