My speedo on my 96 9000Aero (5speed) has been down for about 2 years now. I had taken it to the dealer on another item and asked them to look at it. They wanted to either rebuild or replace the whole transmission to fix it. I asked of course if they checked the speedo gear and they said yes, that it was fine but it was the gear in the tranny. etc etc, obviously I decided not to do it.
So I took it to a local Speedo shop here in town and they said yes it was the gear and it only cost me $150!!!
Now Ive noticed a few things, it seems faster (is this possible or is it in my head?), it doesnt stall when I engage the clutch (randomly), and the cruise control works!!!
The computer is outta whack tho, how do I reset the computer so that it reads the correct MPG?
Also, on another note, Ive noticed lately that my accelerator pedal is getting very stiff. Is there a way to loosen it or make it easier to push?
Thanks guys!
(I thought I posted this last week but I couldnt find where I posted it, so apologies to anyone who read it and is reading it again.)
