My car suddenly started running hot in traffic.

Cooling fan wasn't running, and the fuse had popped.

New fuse-immediate pop again. I checked the archives and developed a theory; that the low-speed resistor had finally fused open. With the testing information in hand, I was able to check the resistor, and found that it was, indeed, bad.

Further information from the archives indicated that an electrical parts store might sell the appropriate resistor. I checked with a local shop, and they didn't have a 50w/.2ohms resistor, but they *did* have 2x 25w/.4 ohms resistors.

Total cost: $2.16. Total time: about 45 minutes, including the fix. Car back to running cool!
