Hi there,
Having an issue with my wife's car, a '91 9kT auto. Every so often, the brake laights stay on after the car is turned off. Because it's an automatic, it has the combo brake/cruise switch, which, of course, I immediately replaced. This switch has a longer travel for the plunger than the regular brake switch, so the pedal would have to be stuck quite a bit out for it to be the pedal. When it has happened, pulling the pedal back doesn't make the lights go off, but pumping the pedal a couple times does.
So, where should I start looking and what should I be looking for. I am pretty deft at finding and fixing electrical issues, but don't really know where to start since I don't drive the car and its only happened twice when I was somewhere nearby.
