yeofang,
you mentioned that with your son's help the job was done in 30 minutes. There's a key. My 93 CSE blows blue smoke at startup, but drives great, accelerates right up to fuel cutoff (maybe failed BCV), and is thus, to my kids, faster than the new to us 98 CSE. I'm thinking of deleting 93 to avoid valve job. But kids (boys 9 & 11) are very much looking forward to doing a valve job (see the inside of a motor!). Quality time?
My 11 year son has been walking around wih wrenches since he was 2 (to help daddy). He has a remote control gas powered toy truck that has "all kinds of problems" and is usually in 1000 pieces. He begs me to order a part, when it comes the truck is all together and running up and done the driveway in minutes (making an aweful sound, so I hope for another breakdown). My 9 year old has a remote control airplane, ... same story.
My wife thinks it great, as long as she gets the car that works.
