...and that's probably fine if you've got the sequence down for replacing said transistor and don't mind doing it regularly.
But please, remember: a bad blower motor will almost always pass the "direct voltage" test you've described. That's because the problem is that the fan is old and stiff, requiring excessive current to turn. This excessive current passes through the transistor and fries it. No one knows why the fuse doesn't do its job and leaves the transistor susceptible, but it's a common problem, not just in Saabs.
So, if you've got no blower (or if your blower is on full blast all the time), try the ACC diagnosis first, but you're probably looking at a new blower motor if you really want to solve the problem for good.
Remember, hooking up the blower to direct battery voltage DOES NOT rule out the fan!!
