My son's '95 Aero exhibited the same symptom: we used Krylon plastic paint. I believe the color is semi-gloss black, but it may be 'trim black'. Worked pretty well, as it is formulated to go on plastic, and looks just like the original. Ace Hardware carries it- in our area, that's Rocky's Ace Hardware.
