I would run the checks to see what isn't firing up when the car doesn't run. For example, will it run if you wire the fuel pump on (jumpering the fuses)?
Given that it runs for a while and then stops and stays stopped for an hour, two things come to mind - vacuum and electronics.
Vaccum, but not vacuum in terms of vac hoses. How full is the tank? Try unscrewing the gas cap and see if the car will run again. If the tank is full and unscrewing the cap fixes it, then I'd suspect a tank issue. The tank is run at a slight vacuum, but too much and you can't suck out gas. It would be worse with a full tank. Not likely, but easy.
The most probable problem is electrical - something heats up and the car shuts down. My first guess would be the Crank Position Sensor (CPS). It would die as the block heats up, and stay dead until the heat of the block dissapates. I haven't had to try this trick myself, but I've heard of others doing it. Wait until the engine quits. Then open the hood, and pour some cold water on the CPS. It is located behind the main lower pulley. Maybe just feed a hose down there (ENGINE OFF!) and run a slow stream of cold water over it for about 30 seconds or so. You don't need to spray the area, just cool it down a little. If the engine starts right up, buy a new CPS.
