My stock valve had been doing that too and it was on my "list of things to replace". Was cleaning off the battery area of the accumulated junk and notice that a vacuum line that comes from the left fender, goes under the battery platform, and then goes under/near the throttle body and to a "Y" connector in front of the firewall, was eaten through, just the skin of the silicon hose holding the two sides together with the inside of the hose plainly visible... Got a straight through joiner, cut the ends clean, and plugged together. Guess what? no more flutter on the Hooter valve. And now the boost peaks into the red and eases back with the pedal mashed to the floor. Goldie, what a car. Guess I'll have to keep her for another 250k miles...
the Saabs first law comes home again... "check all vacuum lines..."
