1993 CDE; running HOT, gurgling, no heat from ACC Posted by adam [Email] (#344) [Profile/Gallery] (more from adam) on Fri, 25 Aug 2006 05:33:36 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Last night I picked up a 209k mile '93 CDE Turbo that needs a little love. On the short ride home, it came up to temp then just kept climbing; it finally stopped about 2 needles shy of the red, which was just about when I pulled into my driveway. En route, I turned on the ACC to High to try and bleed off some heat, and got nothing but ambient temp air. The ACC also displayed "2" upon startup. Is this an error code? Is this car an ACC1 or ACC2 car?
After pulling into my driveway, I cracked the coolant overflow bottle and got air releasing, but I also got a lot of loud gurgling from the radiator. The car sat for the better part of 8-months, so my plan was to change the thermostat and see where that got me. I have a spare radiator and heater core if need be, but has anyone seen this, or know where a typical problem area can be? I had the same thing happen on an S-10 pickup and it ended up being the radiator cap!!! (??? odd) Thanks.
