I actually put the valve cover back on with a new gasket a while back thinking I'd fixed the leak and hadn't.

I was going to remove the two Torx T40 bolts (I found out what size they were from the 9-3 forum) that hold down that U-shaped "keeper" and then just place either another plug with the part number you described on there and clamp it back down, or replace the O-rings on the plug that's already there.

Based on what I read on the below link, though - especially since I've already replaced my valve cover gasket and put it back together, I may just clean it up real well and slap some RTV on it. Ari has suggested that in the past as well. If that doesn't work, which will necessitate getting my valve cover back off, I will try your approach.

I really appreciate your advice - I'd never be so bold as to whack at that plug without someone like you telling me otherwise. :)
