Did you check the yard?

Did you check the yard? The reason I ask is that one time I had a similar issue. I was working on my 87-900 and was replacing the brake pads. I gathered everything together and placed in next to the wheel well and started to working. I of course took off the wheel and placed it to the side and started losing the calipers and pads. I took the new pads out of the box and applied the “blue stuff”, grabbed a beer and listened to a few songs on the radio, and waited several minutes before installing them.
I completed everything on one side and started on the next. I did everything the same but when it came to applying the new pads they were nowhere to be found. I looked under the car, inside the car, on the ground; I looked everywhere, but pads. I asked my wife if she had moved them and we know the answer was no………… In short, I never found those pads and was forced to buy another set.
Eventually found them a couple of days later when I was mowing. There was only 3 ways those pads made it to my yard (my wife, one of my two children, or my dogs) and it has remained a mystery.
