The problem is that the head and the engine block are made out of different materials. They both heat and contract at different rates. This causes wear on the head gasket. After so many cycles of heating and cooling There is bound to be a problem. One thing that can help this is to retorque the head bolts. It's always best to put in new head bolts for the retorque process. Hope this helps.
