Moisture/ steam exhaust tailpipe Posted by HUEY [Email] (#1023) [Profile/Gallery] (more from HUEY) on Sat, 16 Dec 2006 18:37:43 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I noticed this today after replacing my center muffler and rear muffler on my '92 9000 Turbo, 219k miles. Trying to seal the joint between the two mufflers located over rear axle, noticed DROPLETS of seemingly benign liquid pulsing out of the tailpipe, in harmony with a PULSING idle. Left a damp, oblong shape on the pavement. I have had the pulsing idle for a while now, didn't seem serious. Anyways, temps are around freezing, so Is it possible that it is just normal condensation? Or is this the dreaded "WHITE SMOKE" indicative of HG going south? I wouldn't say mine is obviously smoking white, but I have been adding coolant here and there, which I had attributed to heater core. Coolant also seems to get somewhat dark in color after changing. Oil always looks good, color and level. THANKS ALL! Huey
