I inadvertantly pushed the hazard warning light switch too hard causing
it to tilt inwards on one side. Lights are off, but I would like to fix the switch if possible. The whole unit looks as if it should
just pull out of the dash and in fact have made a couple of feeble attempts to do that and the surround for the button unit comes out about1/4 inch, but it feels insubstantial and I am afraid I will break it if I continue to try and pull it out of dash. Can anyone confirm that
you can remove it from the dash easily as i imagine once i got it out
it wouldn't be hard to fix it/replace it.I noticed a thin flat metal
strip about 1/8th inch wide that can be seen alongside the button in
the place which used to be covered by the button. My guess is that that
strip which appears to be made out of spring metal, belongs inside the button and if I re-inserted it would solve my problem.
Anyone have ideas/experience with this??
