I've had a noticable vibration and sound coming from our 95 CSE with 200K miles. Our indie shop did the motor mounts, (fixed many leaks) and it still have the vibration. We double checked the exhaust system (as the vehicle is noticably louder) but that is not the issue either.
Since we have about $1500 in the engine and transmission mounts and fixed oil leaks (crank seal, pump, valve cover, inner driver) he is willing to continue to fix this at little more cost. His only idea at this point seems to point to the balance shafts but he's never seen issues with a balance shaft that didn't make horrible noises such as chain slap or others. He has since them go in may 900 and a few 9000, but not like this. He says he can also seem them turning.
He's a 30 year veteran of Saabs and I feel pretty good about his skills (especially with engine/tranmissions) but he asked I get some 2nd oppinions on the balance shaft idea before he spends his time pulling anything apart.
basically this is a vibration felt at all speeds through the entire car (pedal, steering wheel) with noticable sound like a hole in the exhaust too. He says he can very much feel it through the top of the valve cover.
help!
