Electrical grid around windshield is actually built in antennae. After several professional window replacements my copper "forks" that screw into frame of car and touch this grid have broken off. I don't think it makes much difference in radio reception if you have a working antennae in back. Just did our 1st home replacement last month. Very difficult. It's easy to tear the headliner cutting out the old windshield we used heavy duty razor knife but would use a wire designed specifically for the purpose if we did it again. Also material to hold in new windshield is messy. Definately a 2 person job. We started by centering new window into dry frame several pieces of masking tape across window and frame for reference points. Once windshield is on the goo (polysulfite) that's where it is going to stay so make sure you have it just right. If you've applied to little goo it is going to leak too much and it oozes all over and not easy to clean up. Also, plastic trim that goes over the whole thing made by saab is pricey so good to save the old one off your car and reuse if possible. Good luck!
