Steering Groan.

I have a '97 CSE Turbo auto with 181,000 miles on the clock and recently the steering had become heavy so I upped the front tyre pressures and went on until after the cold weather it started to groan going onto the LH lock and I noticed also the front suspension squeaked. I solved the suspension squeak with some WD 40 on the lower wishbone pivot points and then I rained and I suppose the rain water would have solved the problem as well.
But here's the interesting bit last year I decided to change out the Power Steering Fluid (nothing better to do I suppose) so I siphoned out the old and put in new Valvoline for over 75,000 mile vehicles with Stop Leak. What I noticed when investigating the groan was that the smaller return pipe was glistening with oil but not dripping. So out came the old fluid again and I flushed it with the proper GM Power Steering Fluid and filled to the cold mark on the side of the holding vessel and Bob's your uncle the groan has gone. Then really thinking about the Heavy Steering I investigated the open tops of the struts thinking I had dried water out of these before after washing the car, I cleaned them out and added a few drops of 3in1 oil hoping it would find its way past the dirt seal and into the top bearing, well it did and I do not have heavy steering any more.
Just thought someone might like a happy Saab Story instead of the more usual Sob Story.
