First post I've made but avid viewer of this BB. I just the other day felt I had little to loose with dismantling my throttle body. It is on a 1993 9000 CSE turbo automatic w/TCS. Basically three things can go wrong from my understanding. 1. The rubber bellows that allow the motor to do it's job could spring a leak. 2. The stepper motor position sensor could be at fault. 3. The stepper motor itself could be faulty. I had the 3rd problem. I mearly had to clean the carbon filled burned commutators and resurfaced the brushed and away I went. I test drove it for about 10 miles, putting it through it's paces and also the last few days for normally running about with not even a hiccup. It is helpful if you have jigs for resurfacing commutators on motor and some experaince but not absolutely neccesary. The benefit also is that you don't have a new one that has to be synched with the ECU afterwards $$$$$.
