I had a low temp rad switch in my car, just realized last night that it is actually a VW part number, not Saab. I had to make a new harness from the connector under the rad (broke it getting it apart) and I had the switch anyway. Not sure if there even is a low temp Saab switch. Eeuroparts doesn't show one.
A possible reason for the smoke, if it's not the accumulated oil residue, is a coolant line going to a wrong port (vacuum port) on the TB. I did it once, smoked for days altho it only ran like that for a couple seconds.
