I'm not sure I understand what causes this but I know what you're talking about. My 89s clutch used to be scary stiff at the end of the exit ramp after a few hours of hot weather highway driving. I flushed out a lot of black crud, and rebuilt the master and it's finally getting better in the 65k since I got it at 190k. Still on the same clutch and slave, though.
You might separate the clutch hose and try a reverse flush through the slave to see what comes out. Another possibility is corrosion inside the bore of the slave either from bad brake fluid or the car sitting for a long time at some point.
