Mine did this last year - a new EDU solved it...

I found an EDU from a 98CSE on ebay and had dealer install for about $250 - $300. Mine was doing almost exactly what yours is doing. When it blinked out, the AC blew warm air, my fuel and temp guages didn't work, boost did. The speedo didn't work and the bottom/middle LED display did not work. Sometimes I'd hit a bump and it would work for the rest of the day and then it would just blink out for no reason/cause. I lived with it like that for almost 6 months.
I'm going to be really ticked if what Abusot suggested works. Naaaa... the dealer wouldn't lie about the diagnosis??? Actually, they didn't make anything on the EDU, in fact they recommended I find it at a parts yard since the car was 'older' and the new EDU would be $1100! OH - if you get an EDU make sure you replace all the bulbs in it before installing. Half my speedo is dim because I didn't think of this.
Sounds like your EDU though from my experience.
