Before I replaced mine, even though it still had over half its wear life left, I would get a shudder for the first few times I used the clutch.
In my case, I know I got some coolant onto the disc which may have affected it. I sprayed about 1/2 can of brake cleaner in the clutch sight hole while the car was running and that helped.
Also, check the fasteners connecting the bell housing to the motor.
