...they are made for single use, and once they loosen they tend to loosen again and again.

The fix is 2 fold:

1) Remove the nut and use a chissel to make a defect in the side of the nut AWAY from the rotor. This will act as a lock.

2) Use RED loc-tite.

I had this problem on my C900 and it kept recurring until I did the above. Now I am 3 years without an issue.
