sounds like the problem, but we're not done yet.
with an ohmmeter, check the three terminals of the BPC (each end to center) both sides should read about 3 ohms. 2.7 is ok, 30 is too much. one or both could be either open or shorted (0 ohms). if it's shorted, your ECU may be bad because of it. there's procedures for replacing the MOSFETs online. if it's open (infinite ohms) the ECU is probably ok, or at least isn't bad because of that.
if both sides check out, unscrew the BPC and clean it out with some carb cleaner. you'll probably see some ucky scudge come out. clean it real well (spray in all 3 holes) and then try it again. it just might work.
my car had an open coil, and the new BPC from eeuroparts is fine after a year or so.
