Air Conditioning Bogging Posted by Porschephile951 [Email] (#2169) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Porschephile951) on Sat, 16 Jun 2007 18:11:35 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I know that the air conditioning compressor by nature uses a good amount of energy, however I have noticed in all my 9000s that it significantly affects the drivability. I thought it wouldn't be a problem in my modified 1997 9k CSE, but it is almost moreso, increasing turbo lag and stifling low-end acceleration. It's irritating as all get out while driving in the city.
By contrast it was far more tolerable in my 1989 BMW 325 and was hardly noticeable in my 1992 Audi 100S 2.8. Maybe the extra two cylinders are what makes the difference.
Is there a consensus on this?
Thanks!
Evan
