if you run the sunroof open till it stops, you can then press the switch again to get a bit more opening. In the handbook Saab seem to think this is a design feature but I've never been able to work out why they thought it was a good idea. Maybe it's a little noisier when fully open.
When closing the roof you don't get this two-stage operation and yes, I have to hold the switch all the time too. Always stops in the right place automatically so I guess you do have a problem on your car - maybe it'll just go away with some electrical spray?
Never had your problem over closing the roof at higher speeds but it can certainly be noisy in cold weather expecially if it's icy. Cracking a rear window a little can reduce drumming sometimes, as on any car.
