Great forum, I've found alot of info on here in the archives to help me with my LPT ECU with APC Valved 1995 Saab 9000.
One of the many things I've been working on in reconditioning my 9000 is the CEL. One of my codes is the EVAP valve. Relatively simple I thought, just buy another valve. So I bought another valve. Both valves are capable of closing off, and both valves are capable of clicking open and closed rapidly, just like they should. But I still can't make the EVAP valve CEL go away. The vacuum on the valve is strong, so the hose isn't clogged. The hose for the valve goes to the intake manifold right by the TB, and it's alright.
I've gotten and installed a FPT ECU (my car was a lpt, and someone installed an APC before I owned the car) and the EVAP valve code is still being thrown. I've got two EVAP valves, both of them throw the code. I have two ECUs, and both of them respond the same to the EVAP valve. Knowing that the computer probably judges what the EVAP valve is doing based on manifold pressure, I bought a another AND sensor, and the code is still being thrown.
What else is there?
My other two codes, from when I bought the car (my car was a lpt, and someone installed an APC before I owned the car), are for the MAP sensor, and TPS. I have a theory that since my car is a LPT ECU with a FPT APC, what is happening is when the turbo boosts it tries to boost more than base boost, and the ECU goes "WOAH WOAH WOAH, what's this!?" and throws MAP sensor, and TPS codes. My theory may or may not be correct. I won't know if my theory is correct until I drive the car with my FPT ECU. My EVAP code wouldn't apply to this theory because it comes back right away when the engine is started, after codes have been cleared.
