probably too late, but ->Re: Source for FlexPipe Posted by vtsnaab [Email] (#26) [Profile/Gallery] (more from vtsnaab) on Tue, 4 Sep 2007 22:32:35 In Reply to: Re: Source for FlexPipe, JonAero1, Fri, 31 Aug 2007 10:42:55 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I have done this a bunch of times by just getting the generic flex
from my local Bond Auto Supply for about $30, and it is quite easy
to slice out the old one and clamp in the generic.
The hard parts can be if you need a bolt-on mount or if the section
of pipe with the flange (to the cat) is in bad shape.
The most I've had to do is to use an aftermarket mount and additional
adapters to join the pipes back up, but it has always been good and
tight afterwards and I find the generic has usually outlasted the
OEM part by a margin.
(This job has also been one that makes me very very grateful to have
an air chisel and air powered die grinder - those $1 wheels can do
an awful lot of work very fast !)
Best Wishes,
