Sure, our cars like to be fondled - you're right, and having a Saab means
being ready for a $500 or so repair every so often as a rule.
BUT - you have to admit that when they're good, they're great; and - ALL
cars cost what they cost, meaning there ain't no free lunch.
I have done the math on my '91 for the last couple of years including
the AAA, the repairs, the initial cost and the things I added to make
the car 'fit me' better - and still, at around a total cost of $4000
or so, that would've been 10-12 monthly payments towards a much lesser
car that had ALOT fewer 'smiles per mile' and wouldn't save my skin in
moose rutting season (right now...) in Vermont.
My 2 cents:
As long as I am capable I will own a 9000 - for all their oddities mine
have served me super well and more than any other car I've ever owned
I can say I enjoy these the most - enough to keep me from buying another
cafe-style bike, which'd be the death of me for sure !
Keep that fire burning Steve !
