Yes the elbow right at the throttle body. The splits weren't obvious until I felt and squeezed it, one was on the bottom. Yes, I was getting the CEL, I believe with 5 flashes.
It's not a vacuum leak but a boost leak, and I hadn't realized that it could cause LHM. The boost gauge was going high but the power just wasn't quite there for a long time. It began to get worse and then I began to get LHM unless I stayed out of boost completely.
The struggle with such an old car has been to get the boost delivered reliably after I modded it. Between a bad BPV, BPC, and now this rubber boot splitting it's nice to finally be channeling all the boost where it belongs. Good luck to you. -AMG
