Parts prices: depends on where you shop

Many of us here buy from site sponsors such as eEuroparts. I find eEuro's are fairly close to wholesale, and I've gotten some parts for less than my indy can. I used to check prices, but have found eEuro to be very reasonable and I've had no issues.
Any import is going to have some high parts prices compared to domestics, but in my experience Saab is not really all that bad. It's partly a matter of mass production versus low production. And sometimes the exchange rate against the euro. Some of the Japanese makes have some really pricey parts, too.
IMHO, the secrets to owning and enjoying a Saab are:
(a) have a good Saab-specialist indy tech to take it to
(b) do some of the repair/maintenance yourself (a little over-maintaining is good!
(c) come here to TSN for information on problems and procedures
(d) don't buy parts from a dealer unless it is unavoidable
(e) buy used parts when it makes sense
(f) fix stuff when it breaks--don't wait
(g) use factory or equivalent parts when possible
(h) pay attention to details
