I associate the name Pentosin with LHM hydraulic fluid. It could be that Pentosin is used with other oil formulations as well. But here is a cautionary tale:
For many years I drove a Citroen DS21 which used LHM to run the entire nervous system of the car: hydraulically-controlled manual gearshift, suspension, power steering, and power brakes. LHM was always pricey, and because the Citroen owner's manual said that in an emergency you could substitute ATF for the LHM, a lot of American owners (including the prev owner of my car) simply ran their cars on ATF. The trouble with this was that Citoren's machinging and tolerances were done to a remarkable degree of precision, and after a while, the extra friction ingredients in the ATF increased the ability of the fluid to sneak past the valves. As a result, the pump would cycle the system every 30 seconds instead of every 2 or 3 minutes.
I'm not saying that GM power steering fluid is going to do this int he Audi, but I'd make very certain if I were you that there isn't some specific quality in Pentosin that cannot be duplicated in other oils. As far as I know my dear old DS21 is still running, down in CT, but it still hacs a very short cycle time, and that could have been avoided if the owner had used real LHM in his fluid changes every 20k miles.
