oil seals often wear a groove in the crank surface, it's a good idea to put the new seal a bit further in than the old one was. usually you can see the ring of dirt in the block where the old one was.
when you put the seal in, did the side with the spring (concave side) go in first? it should.
not sure about the headlights, email or call eeuro, or check the stealer. i would ask eeuro first having had nothing but god experiences with them.
