Starting with the ABS sensor, did you rebuild or replace the rear calipers? I would double check the rear ABS sensors and make sure that they are clean reattached to the electrical connection and seated properly in the calipers.
By using "too much air" did you power bleed the brakes using a cap and a bike stem or power bleeder? Double check that you didn't blow off the hose at the bottom of the brake reservoir, if you did, there should be puddle of brake fluid on the floor.
I've also had luck doing a reverse bleed, using a minivac that pulls fluid from thru the calipers to get things going.
