I just did the ball joints as a part of the suspension re-work on my 93cset. The ball joints were really the easiest part of the deal. You may need a press, depending on how much rust you have down there (I had none, its a desert car).
If I recall, its 3 small bolts to the control arm, you could cut them off if you needed. Then one big bolt at the bottom of the strut assembly, I used a big screwdriver to pry the pinch connection apart a bit, and tapped out the old ball joints and then tapped in the new ones.
Pretty easy, but no rust to speak of.
(I had a press from Harbour Freight at the ready, really like a *big* C-clamp with an open end, but didn't need it.
My control arm bushings were toast, so they came off easy. Think I had to cut the brass bushing on one of them, then used poly replacements. Veeeerrry easy re-install.
I dunno about doing the job outside in the winter, tho. Do you have a garage or car-port?
