the Saab Clarion Radio is acctually a pretty good unit for it's age. I also have a 94 Aero and am torally happy with the "stock" system although I will be upgrading the rear speakers since one of mine is nearing it's end. for the amp, If I remember it's under the seat and it's fairly common for it to look pretty bad, they collect moisture and turn aweful colors although they are pretty robust, if it works I would leave it alone, if it's dead, i would replace with aftermarket!
I also like the stock look of the head units, if mine ever quit I would replace with a stock unit, you can find them pretty cheap on ebay or in local yards, if you get a used one make sure you get the code with it, some dealers will not give codes anymore. I know my local yard has both the CD and head units. so if you can't find one I can grab one with the code for you
