Best way to remove 1993 turbo engine/tranny

My father-in-law wants to pull engine/tranny from a totalled 9000 turbo (automatic tranny) from 1993. Car was rear-ended, so front is pristine. What is the best way, and are there any directions to make this quick and painless.
