On my 1990, I was losing coolant somewhere at first. Then the windows would fog up real bad with the heat on. Then I could smell coolant. Also, the driver's side floor always got soaked. I replaced the heater core, cleaned out all the gunk & pine needles down where the heater fan sets and now I have clean heat and no more leaks.
I do notice that I still get condensation at times after the car sits for an hour or two after driving. especially if the sun comes out after it's been raining. Must be a Saab 9000 thing.
Good luck!
Oh ya- I added coolant into the heater core BEFORE I hooked up all the hoses to avoid any air pockets in the cooling system. Maybe yours needs a burping.
