Thermostats wear out, and should be replaced every 3 years or so. Ideally, the coolant should be flushed every two years, and might as well replace the thermostat at the same time. And I strongly recommend going with a Saab OEM thermostat. I'd recommend an 82 degree thermostat if you already haven't put one in. The stock thermostat is 89 (C). A lower temp thermostat might be an issue in very cold climates, but that isn't likely to be an issue for you. You can also get an 82C thermofan switch. The fan will come on sooner.
