I seem to remember reading something about the special combination of some metals in the mentioned engines making them susceptible to the Dex-cool problems. If changed every couple of years I don't think there have been any issues with 9000s and Dex-cool. I recently changed the radiator on my '96 9000 with 206k miles on it and the core was still in fine condition, it just leaked a bit at one of the end tank seals.
So I wouldn't worry about using dex-cool. Just don't mix it with the green/blue stuff and change it every couple of years.
